Hello everyone!    My name is Sherry and I'm 34 years old.  I am married to a wonderful man and we have 4 young sons, ages 7, 5, 2, and 6 weeks.  I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2004.  I have been in remission since 2007 after having to be on large doses of Prednisone, Asacol and Rowasa Enemas to get it under control.  However, the only med I took during my most recent pregnancy was Asacol.  Now that I am 6 weeks postpartum, I'm starting to experience some symptoms (bleeding and cramping) so my GI dr put me back on Prednisone. Anyway, I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and making some new friends who understand what I've been through with UC.  Take care!

I just have to say that you both really give me hope!  You are active people coping with this disease!

My 18 yr old son with Crohn's will head off to college in the Fall and I just hope he can manage to stay well and productive in college.

I hope you continue to do well, managing through the rough times well as it sounds like you have done.

Hi, I am a 54 year old wife, mother and grandmother who was diagnosed 5 years ago with uc.  I've done farely well with few flare-ups.  However, I've been in a flare-up for 10 weeks.  I had another colonoscopy done and my colon is healing, but the symptoms weren't going away.  I'm on 12 asacol and down to 30 mg of prednisone a day.  My symptoms started improving Mon.  I feel like we are on the road to recovery.  I am a runner and this has not been an easy flare-up.  I am running the Peachtree Road Race July 4 even though I haven't run a lot in the past 2 months.  Hang in there.  It's not an easy disease, but God gives us the grace to go through what we must.
