Getting the right Health Insurance

Thu, October 29, 2015 2:34 PM

Open enrollment for Health Care Insurance through the Marketplace/exchange will begin on Nov 1.    If you or a family member has IBD, there are many additional choices to consider besides the plans’ monthly premium.
CCFA has an IBD Insurance Checklist designed to help you compare insurance plans and consider your health care needs including:

  • Is your GI, hospital or infusion center in network,?
  • Are specialized blood tests and colonoscopies covered at least 80% or higher
  • Is there a prescription drug plan that pays for your current medications?
To learn more about Marketplace insurance resources or to request a copy of the IBD Insurance Checklist from the IBD Help Center email info@ccfa.org or call (888)694-8872.
