Health Insurance

Sun, April 10, 2016 5:08 PM

Hello everyone,Sorry if this has been posted before, but I just wanted some answers on health insurance. Im currently a teacher in Florida and eventually want to transition to a real estate agent. As many of you know, medications for UC are not cheap at all. I have great insurance as a teacher, but what Ive been seeing is its hard to get good coverage as a real estate agent. Does anyone know what my options would be if I were to transition? I absolutely cannot go without insurance.

Health Insurance Resources
Obtaining health insurance or financial assistance to cover healthcare costs can be challenging for those who need it most.   However, there have been a lot of recent changes in access to health insurance in hopes of trying to help individuals and families gain access to affordable healthcare.

The Health Insurance Marketplace is a new way to find quality health coverage in one place. Within the Marketplace you can learn about your health insurance options, compare insurance plans and submit an application. This will be helpful if you do not have coverage or would like to explore more cost effective options. Further, all plans are considered “Qualified Health Plans,” meaning that they must cover certain essentials, including but not limited to: ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospital coverage, behavioral health, prescription drugs, lab services, and chronic disease management. For more information about the Marketplace or to apply for coverage, visit: www.healthcare.gov

We have two resources available to help you make a more informed decision:
1.       Healthcare Reform Fact Sheet: http://www.ccfa.org/assets/pdfs/health-reform-2015.pdf
2.       IBD Insurance Checklist: http://www.ccfa.org/assets/pdfs/ibd-insurance-checklist.pdf
