I was told I had crohns 2002 once they took out my colon and retucm. I went for a check up because it's been 5 yrs. my question is they told me I didn't have crohns now I have colitis.. doesn't colitis only go in large intestines?? I don't have a colon I'm confused.

Yes you are correct. UC only affects the large intestine. The only way this would make sense is if they actually only removed part of your large intestine. If you still have some portion of your large intestine left, then you could still contract UC. I would definitely ask your doctor to clarify his diagnosis and possibly even get a second opinion.
