Chat rooms....

Thu, August 07, 2008 12:00 AM

This forum is great but they really need to get a chat room so people can talk when they are on instead of checking back and seeing if anyone responds.
Just a thought... I'm lonely and frustrated right now cause the darn prednisone doesn't like to let me sleep and the benadryll hasn't kicked in yet! All my family is asleep... even when I do sleep I have stress dreams like everything I worry about is in my dream and I can't escape to anywhere... wakes me up like every 15 minutes on top of my UC waking me to go to the bathroom.

After making some phonecalls, I was directed to call this number:

1-888-694-8872.

I was told that if the DEMAND were expressed by enough people, we just might get a chat room. :)

So... express away.

Also, you'll all find it pleasing to know that CCFA is working hard to reduce the trial-and-error method we all have experienced with medicines that may or may not work.

Beautiful.

Much love to all,

=Carla

I totally agree. I wonder how one might go about getting that started...? I'll try via the "contact us" route. The main downside of a chat room for IBD is a potential addiction to the internet. But that's the 2nd best thing to a support group. Great idea.

I read your other post about being pregnant and sick with UC. I am wondering what medications you took while pregnant. I hopefully will be pregnant soon and know I need to be on medication, I too haven't been in remission in a long time, not as long as you. Any advice for me would be wonderful. Thanks.

If it's easier you can email me at meg.dav@verizon.net

Yup it's a side effect.. fun huu!
Benadryll works, but even when I take that if I wake up I'm up for good.

A chat room would be cool. The forum is really nice, but a chat room would bring this great support system to the next level.

On a side note, is insomnia a side effect of prednisone? I have avoided looking at the side effect list for fear of getting them into my mind and thus manifesting them. But seriously, I have not slept through the night in weeks. Last night I didn't even have the urgency to go to the bathroom (yay!), but I was still waking up consistantly through the night and having the hardest time going back to sleep.
