Fiber

My gastro wants to put me on Humira for my CD/UC.  I have antibiodies to remicade. I am declining Humira because I am having a fair response to the Endocort ememas.  He also recommends 15 gms daily of soluable fiber---FIbersure.  9 fish oil tablets with the 9 colazals.  I am also on enteric acidolphilus.

This feels like a lot to remember to take.  In fact some nights I "forget " to do the enema.

My question:  Is any one here bulking up with fiber and experiencing a decrease in symptoms.

I actually take Metamucil everyday because it has soluble fiber which absorbs water from the colon and firms up the stool and less diahrea. I've tried the other brand  but I don't think it helped me because there needs to be more soluable fiber. I hope this helps!

my dr said no fiber, but I also called him Dr. Idiot in another post so I don't trust his opinion.  From what I've read so far for UC, fiber does not necessarily help treat the symptoms, but may help treat the disease.  It also seems that many with CD are anti-fiber and whole raw foods.  This may be a difference in the nature of the diseases- CD affects the small intestine and UC affects the large intestine
