Low Energy

Mon, August 18, 2008 2:01 PM

I've had real energy issues for the last couple of years and it just seems to get worse over time.  Even if i get a good 8-9 hours of sleep, i am dragging at work by 5:00 every evening.  It feels like i've been hit by a truck and all i can do when i get home is sit on the couch.  I used to be a very active person and this is having a very big effect on my personal and professional life.  At first i thought it was because i was often in a flare up with my UC, but i have been on humira since March and feeling very good, and my energy levels are still very low.  I take an iron supplement.  Does anyone out there have other suggestions for improving my energy levels?

I struggled with the same problem..some days I could barely get out of bed.  My doctor did some bloodwork and my B12 levels were extremely low.  I now take B12 shots weekly and my energy level is so much better.  Everyday living isn't a chore and I am not going to bed right after dinner.  If you haven't had your B12 tested, ask your doctor.  It is very common for CD patients to be unable to absorb B12, which has many symtoms, one of which is fatigue.  hope that helps!

I have the same exact problem!!  I sleep a lot!! And, still its never enough!  I have a 5 yr old at home and work full time so I have a full schedule, but I am ALWAYS drained and have very low energy.  Am glad to hear I'm not alone with that.  Any ideas on what can be done to help????

Take care all~

Im still trying to find out why.....I stopped all meds ( since I am in remission) to see if I'd get better........it's been 3 weeks, and NO. I still feel like crud every day.

When I find something out, I'll share it with you...........until then, I'm with you

I posted the same thing........I am trying to find out why I am physically drained everyday, most of the day.  It is getting worse with time, and I was an extremist when it came to "GO>>GO>>GO".......now I load up on those 5 hour energy shots and I can go for a few hours, but my body still feels very weak.
