Doctor trouble?

Sat, October 11, 2008 8:13 PM

I was wondering if anyone has had to change doctors.  I have been

going to the same doctor for 8 years.  He went on vacation in

June, when he got back - he was different.  We had always seemed

to have a good patient/doctor relationship.  However, everytime

I see him now, it's almost an arguement and he doesn't seem have

the same views on disease as he did before.  Has this happened to

someone else?

What would you think about sending your current Dr. a letter with your concerns?  I think he/she might like to have some feedback as opposed to your just finding someone else.  I'm not saying you have to stay with that person, just maybe give them an opportunity to apologize and/or correct their behavior...

hi- Ive been there too... having crohns for more than thirty years i have probably had more doctors then i can remember... If you dont feel the same about your doctor listen to your "gut" find someone who you feel comfortable with someone who listens to you and really takes the time... it also doesnt hurt to know you have a doctor who is up to date on the ccfa goings on... you need to feel good when you leave the office. dont feel bad leaving, you need to worry about you....good luck

Hi,

I had trouble with my first 2 doctors and finally found one that I like. My 3rd doctor is one of the partners of my 2nd doctor.  They share an office and waiting room, but it doesn't bother me a bit.  I don't always agree with him and we  have discussions about treatment sometimes.  I do my research and only I know how I feel when on certain medications and I let him know that.  I realized after 3 1/2 years that if I didn't like my doctor and we didn't work well together I would NOT go to the doctor.  I would take my meds but only go to the doctor when they refused to renew my prescription.  Not good for me.  So... I wouldn't worry at all about looking for another doctor.  I did and was very glad.
