I was dignosed in 1989 with Crohn's Disease and had a bad attack in 2004 (for which I am still battling with) .  I am not a canidate for a re-section, but I am a canidate for a colostomy.  We have tried every drug out there and my body wont respond to any of the current meds out.  Since 2004, I have applied for SSI and I have been declined (I am on my fourth (4) appeal and am awaiting a court hearing).  I have tried to hold down work, but because of my condition (and Georgia being a hire at will/fire at will state), I get laid off due to the fact that I get sick at work. As of 11/08, I have developed pyoderma gangrenosum on my right leg, i have developed arthitis on my right ankle and my left knee is retaining water.  Sadly, I have no health insurance and I have to deal with this illness without medical care.  Any one have any ideas to deal with social security.  Thank you.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and got my disability on my first try.  I was curious as to why, so I did a little research and UC is considered a disabling condition on the Social Security website.  No wonder I go it so quickly.  I'm sure when they looked at my file and saw "fecal incontinence" that might have been the deciding factor.
