I have had Crohn's since 1994. Honestly, I have been really lucky with it. I have had some flare ups none too horrible though. I had surgery in 2002 because of scar tissue built up in the cecum. A few years ago I found out the symptoms I was having is from IBS with constipation now. A year later I found out I have Proctitis also. I am swollen all over and gaining weight and losing weight in one day...amazing! They keep putting me on antidepressants for the IBS and Canasa for the Proctitis. I am doing Humira for the Crohn's. I also take Sustenex (over the counter) just to try to help the problems. I am tired all the time and I am sick and tired of being swollen and wore out all the time. Does anyone else have these issues and if so how do you cope? I go to work everyday and that is stressful but I am not sick enough to not work but I don't want to be there... do you know what I mean. I don't care so much about all of this for me but I have an 18 month old and I just want to feel better to play with him like I should be able to and not to have to force it some days.

I know how you feel. I was diganosed at age 53 with Crohns/colitis. I'm 55 now. For the past 20+ years I had IBS with constipation. And I still experience both constipation and diarhea. I use miralax to control the constipation. Rarely have diarhea unless I'm experiencing a flare. Just multiple BM's early in the morning. I'm also doing the Remicade infusions. I too can gain 3-5 lbs in a day and then lose them just as quickly. My weight seems to be pretty steady except when flaring. I too feel tired very often and its caused me to lose boyfriends that start to resent the fatigue issues. I have a daughter 28 and her two boys that live with me. 23 mos and 10yrs. I can sympathize the amount of energy it takes to watch the baby.
I try to exercise to keep my energy up. The 23mos will get his "1lb" weights and work out with me and we both do the floor exercise.
Try to rest when the baby naps and try to have someone watch tghe baby for you so you can rest.
The remicade does boost my energy level. Good luck
