Just a quick note of support for everyone.
I have been fighting UC for 5 years now and not one day in remission until now. With the right Doctor and the right meds I am in the clear.
What ever you dont give up keep pushing for answers and if you cant find them go to someone that will answer them for you. Through these 5 years I have seen so many Doctors that just didnt try, I can proudly say that I have found the right team to take care of me and they are not only good at there job but they care about there patients as well.
Continue to push forward and keep your chin up.
I know that I will have my moments, but with family and friends a good diet and a balanced life style I feel that I can handle anything now.

Hi,
I am glad I could help you, I think that everyone needs a little encouragement now and then.
To be honest its not specific diet this past spring my husband and I decided to try something different with our diet and basically it went like this.
-No artificial sweetners ( if I want a sweet I go for the real thing )
- I read all the ingredients that are on the label if I cant pronounce it I dont buy it, so we now eat alot of fresh veggies, fruits and whole grains.
- On top of that I drink plenty of water and tea ( I have cut out coffee for the most part, once in a while I will have a half a cup)
- Exercise I find that going for a walk everyday even if its just around the block helps me.
- Treat yourself once in a while.
-The days that I am flaring I stick with the brat diet and that seems to help me.
Just have to find something that works good for you. Basically trail and error and I hate the errors. ha ha ha

Just what I needed to read today!  Thankyou for the bright news!!!! I too am hoping that I can find the right mix to get normal or a new normal so I can live more of my life.  Can I ask what kind of diet you are working with?  I know we are all different but I really want to research this because I feel it will be a big part of my healing.
