Remicade and hair loss

I'm experiencing extreme hair loss, probably as a side effect of Remicade. I've had only three infusions and my GI is going to increase my dosage, so I'm REALLY concerned about this hair loss. Does it level off as the body gets used to the Remicade? Or does it just get worse and worse?

I started Remicade in January. For a period of about 3wks about a month after I started, I was losing hair by the handful. At the time I attributed to the postpartum hair loss many women experience - due hormones just get back to normal. Maybe it was the Remicade, luckily, it has stopped

Hi, I have been on Remicade since 2006 and have not had any issues directly with hair loss. I did have hair loss when using other medications to fight off the colitis though. One thing I want to suggest to you is I had an allergic reaction to the Remicade this summer and to get more information, I called Centocor - the maker of Remicade. They have a line where you can ask medical questions and they were very helpful. There medical number line is 1-800-457-6399.
