Vitamins, What to take?

Fri, April 10, 2009 12:00 AM

I've had some suggestions of where to go to get some, but I was wondering what some of you are taking. I've also been having a decent amount of weight loss, which I am a bit concerned that if I lose too much that I could start to have other medical issues.

I would recommend talking to your doctor and see if you need vitamins. My doctor told me to take a multi vitamin and iron everyday.

Drugs: I'm on Prednisone and Pentasa

I was taking my leftover prenatal vitamins until those ran out.  I recently started taking One a Day Womens.  I tried taking some Rx iron pills I got when pregnant, but got sick from them.

I read your other post also.  Know that you are not alone and this site is great for info and the people are so nice too.  My 18 year old daughter was diagnosed with UC a little over 2 years ago.  She is currently on 4 Lialda, 3 1/2 Azathioprine.  She also takes one Women's One a Day and one Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50 Billion probiotic.  She is currently on her 4th doctor (not counting her pediatrician).  One of the previous doctors wanted her to also take Viactiv which is chewable calcium supplement.  It was like pulling teeth to get her to take one more thing so the nutritionist she saw said it was ok to add more calcium through her diet.  What meds/supplements are you on?
