Outside of comfort zone

Thu, June 04, 2009 6:41 PM

Feeling frustrated... this week-end marks the yearly all girls week-end in my family. Today, I get this message stating the agenda, of which, will be happening at her house. Friday night, dinner, Saturday morning garage sales, lunch at Olive Garden, then a snack-a-thon and games during the evening, and of course, breakfast on Sunday morning. Since I'm having a flare up with my Crohn's Disease, I'm thinking wait a minute... food = bathroom AND garage sales = no bathroom. Really feeling like this agenda is out of my comfort zone. Interesting - hadn't really felt like I was in a 'comfort zone' till the agenda arrived. Felt sad when I replied stating that I'm not sure I'd be around, but, thanks for info. Feeling 'addicted' to the toilet and becoming a regular toilet user is really getting old! Ok, thanks for listening; needed to vent to put one foot in front of the other :)

I know how you feel.  It is so frustrating to be out of things because of this crud.  Is there anyway you could meet them for some of the stuff.  I have met folks for meals and just ordered a cup of hot water and added my tea bag- if alot of other people are ordering it is hardly noticable.

Hang in there, girl.  You could probably do part of this, and your family will understand your situation.  You might help educate them about IBD!

Can you go over for the evening?  It beats sticking around the house and at least you would be near a bathroom and your family?
