Got Guts?

Thu, September 03, 2009 2:40 PM

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease this past February after almost a year of symptoms.  I use to think that frequent bathroom trips were horrible, but that was until I started getting lots of pain, nauseau, and not being able to sleep at night for more than 30 minutes at a time.  I just started prednisone for the first time after refusing it for so long (all I seemed to find were horror stories), and in the matter of a weekend I went from my doctor wanting to admit me to the hospital for IV steroids after my last colonoscopy to going out at night (with a bathroom close by of course).  I know it is a temporary fix and things certainly aren't perfect, but I feel like I can live my life again.

That said the real motivation behind my post is that I'm trying to see if anyone out there has any of the support "Got Guts?" bracelets they are willing to part with.  I'm feeling stronger every day and would like one to remind me that Crohn's is not going to take over my life.  I know different chapters tend to sell them, but I'm really looking for the old design if anyone knows where I can find one.  Thanks!

You are an inspiration to me!  I'm currently on 30mg of prednisone daily and looking forward to 20mg and so on.  I know it's what works for me.  Usually it only takes 20mg for 2 weeks and I'm okay but this was different and I obviously needed the extra 10mg because I'm feeling a difference.  Now I'm fighting some type of sinus infection, cold, etc.  I would also be interested in the Got Guts bracelet.  I'm a creature of habit and ritual you could say so that bracelet might be good for me!  Have a great night!
