I had severe universal colitis as well.  This summer I had my colon removed and a jpouch installed.  I love it!!!  I love having my active lifestyle back!  I can jog, hike, play outside, ride my motorcycle, travel, anything!  I love being pain free!  I love not seeing blood in the toilet all the time!

The two surgeries and recoveries made for a long summer but it was well worth it!

I recommend it for anyone suffering from UC!!

I'm a fairly new user of Imuran.  Had a major flair, hospitalized.  Doc took me off asacol/mesalamine altogether.  Please check your prescription pamphlet.  If memory serves me correctly, I had to stop the asacol/mesalamine in order for the Imuran to be effective.  Perhaps that is why you are not seeing any relief.
