Weight

So I have noticed a bunch of people are saying that they are having weight control issues. I seem to have the opposite of everyone. Everyone says that they need to lose weight but I need to gain it! I was diagnosed 3 years ago and in these past three years I have been constantly trying to keep my weight up. What are peoples secrets to gaining all this weight cause I would love to know! Last year I got the flu which caused a bad flare up. This resulted in me losing too much weight and not being able to play on my school team because of doctors orders.

I am currently bouncing between 103-105lb and I'm 18 years old. I should be at least 110 or higher. I am on ADHD meds so that makes me not as hungry. I need to gain weight fast because soccer season starts soon and if my mom finds out I'm under 108lbs again she won't let me play!

I need to get my weight up! Help please!

i too have had weight issues since i first had crohns.i am 5.8 and weigh about 120 for years.i have had 7 surgeries so i have short bowel and my body has a tuff time with the weight problem so they have me on TPN to feed my body and i eat regular food just cant have much sugar or fat so i am trying to eat enough so i can get off TPN.I have breakfast early then mid morning i have eggs and toast lunch pancakes with sugar free syrup.ham sandwich mid afternoon, pork chops and stuffing for dinner and end the night with 4 cookies and a glass 1percent milk. After all that and theTPN i havemade it to 158lbs and i have to work at this just to stay this weight.I feel for the people that live with people that have said that i was SKINNY,this is a word that i hate.good luck with the weight and soccer

i think the reason people mostly talk about weight gain is from the treatment for ibd. when you are in a flare up, they put you on steriods (prednisone to be exact). i was recently put on it, and gained 20 pounds in a month.

of course, you can't go ask to be on prednisone unless you are in a flare. i would say increase your calorie intake as much as possible, i know it's *** the adhd meds. try to eat more than 1400 calories a day. i know that 1200-1400 calorie intake is for weight loss. maybe strive for a 2000 cal per day diet?

try having small frequent meals to get your metabolism going.  That might make you hungrier in the long run.  Try high calorie & protein snacks like peanut butter, cheese, or whole milk yogurt.  You can also try making your own milkshakes to boost your calorie intake.

good luck!

My daughter has the same problem......her doc suggested Boost Plus.  I'll be honest, not the best tasting stuff, but it will help put the lbs on.   There are 360 calories in each bottle.   Give your doc a call first to see if it's ok before starting just to make sure.

Good luck!
