Green stool?

Tue, March 02, 2010 12:24 AM

Hi everyone,

I have had Crohn's for about 5 years now and just experienced something weird. The other night I had bright green stool and thought it was due to eating seaweed salad. But then again tonight, had bright green stool. Does anyone know what this could be from and if I should be worried? Please help! Thank you.

I too have had the green stool. It generally comes when your food picks up bile from your stool and passes through the colon too fast for the color to be changed. Some foods which don't look green will give stool a green tinge but the really green stuff is just a speed through the colon deal. It's not dangerous. If it continues mention it to the doc. as an FYI, but it's not indicating anything horrible.
