I had surgery for Crohn's in 1981, never had the classic symptoms even then. However, now I have constant fatigue, partly because I sleep very poorly, four hours tops. I was on elivil for a while, but my body adapted to it. I never sleep through the night, no matter what sleep aid I try (Ambien, Tylenol PM, Melatonin, Valerian)
This fatigue devastates me, and depression sets in as a result. I try to be an upbeat guy, as I know many people are worse off than myself.
But I would like to not feel so wiped out all day, every day.

jeff,
i was diagnosed (thanks to surgery) in 1992. i lived with virtually no symptoms until fall of 2007. i fought a flare from then until feb. 2009 (surgery). i almost died. i was extremely malnourished. i am just now getting over the fatigue. i am now experiencing more good days than bad days. i can now clean up the kitchen after i cook. i can play in the grocery store with my hubby. he spent alot of time keeping me on my feet in the store. flash forward a year later and i still am tired but less.
this disease is tiring. keep your chin up. good nutrition, good hydration, and *** will get you where you want to be in time.
