Healing Crohn's Diet

Fri, April 09, 2010 12:00 AM

I wanted to see if anyone here with CD had tried Josh Golder's Healing Crohn's Diet?  It is a pretty significant lifestyle change and some of it contradicts what I have been advised to eat, so I wanted to see if the results are worth giving it a try.

(Josh Golder is the "True Guts" guy)
Thanks for any and all info!

Hugs!  You are inflammed. Pain in this situation is a given.  The Specific Carb diet has a chicken soup recipe that should help you get thru this.  Try some baked fin fish (salmon, trout, flounder) without seasonings. Bananas are good.  Boiled Chicken is good.  Stay away from raw veggies right now.  If you attempt veggies please overcook them until you are better.  Stay away from sports drinks.  Teas are good and healing. I drink an organic vegtable juice sometimes.  I will not say stay away from bread and pasta but I will beg you to consider it.  The Specific Carb start up diet will help.  Destress as much as you can.  Walk.  Sometimes gas is part of the pain.  Walking (I walked my house, my hubby went nuts) will aid digestion and move the gas.  Start researching.  Research some more.  The more you know, the better you will be at handling this.

I am not familar with his diet.  I know the basis is fruit, veggies, and protein.  I agree with him on that.  Potatoes are a rare treat for me now.  Pasta is banished. My beloved bread is a rare treat.  I do best when I eat "whole foods".  I eat alot of salmon and other finfish.  I eat alot of green beans, brocolli, etc.  I mix berries with my plain yogurt.  I do not use sugar, I prefer to use Stevia.  I snack on pecans, walnuts, and cashews.  I am intrigued by his website.  Gaining knowledge is a powerful tool.
