HI I am just gonna say this, I was diagnosed in 04 been on every kind of medication you can think of to include Remicaide, Humira etc, I did just two years ago get a second tatoo on my back. It's kinda my way of dealing with my disease it's hard to explain. I did one while I was in the Army since that was a big deal and then one two show My strength in dealing with severe Crohn's. I didn't have any issues and it was after my second bowl surgery. SO I  think you should check with your Doctor and make your own choice from there. Good luck and if you do get one enjoy...

I got a huge tattoo on my arm that took 11 hours total. It didn't cause any inflammation or flare ups. It definitely wasn't that painful, especially in comparison with living with Crohn's disease.

Hey,

I actually just talked to my doc about this a few weeks ago, he gave me the firm reply of NO WAY!!!!!!!!
Which I was really sad about but you know how Humira and Remicade and 6mp and all those other drugs actually work right? they lower your immune system, therefore increasing your risk of infection (also if you do get an infection it has a good chance of going bad fast) I know its a total bummer right? anyways so I respect my doc a lot but I went to the tattoo parlor to ask them. They also told me no way. they had freinds with Crohn's and they asked me how long it takes a bruise or scar to heal, and if I ever get mysterious bruises ect and after hearing that that does happen they said until I can heal faster no  way.

Yea, it was a bummer but if I get better and still want the tattoo I'll get it then, plus and this way you will for sure not have any regrets!

Ive been on weekly Humira shots for almost 2 years now and just recently have gotten a 2nd tattoo on the top of my foot. I didnt have any problems at all, it healed completely normal and it barely scabbed unlike the one on my lower back but that before I was on Humira. Dont know if this helps or not but worth a shot!! Good Luck! :)
