Hi. I suffer from crohn's and colitis. I am currently on no meds because of all different kinds of side effects and they weren't working for me anyway. I have been waking up at 3am for the past three nights and not able to fall back to sleep. I teach First Grade so by 12:00 I am all done. I exercise, eat about as good as I can, I just wanted to vent!!! Thanks and any advice would help. I also have a lot on my mind, who doesn't right?!

I was diagnosed when I was 12 and my mom used to give me a B-Complex vitamin she said would help relax me. Because I am missing part of my intestine and absorbtion was difficult, I'm not quite convinced it worked wonders for me but it might be worth a try.
I also used to get bogged down with an endless thought process when I was stressed out about my condition. Do you try journaling before you go to bed? Maybe you can get some thoughts out that way and lessen the load when you're trying to sleep.
Hope you sleep soon!

In reading your post, sounded like everything was great, exercise, eating right, 'til your last sentence.........you have a lot on your mind. I bet that is the culprit! Try working through your mindful "overload". I know it isn't easy, especially in today's difficult times, but do your best. Another thing you may want to try is no tv 1 hr before bed and a cup of chamomile tea, maybe even pick up a new book.
Good luck!
