Research Study by Cincinnati Children's Hospital (ACT NOW!)

Tue, April 20, 2010 12:00 AM

Hi ALL! I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather thus far! My name is Cole Jackson, a patient advocate for IBD. I live in Cincinnati, OH and have been asked to seek out patients living with IBD who are between the ages of 12-17.

Cincinnati Childrens Hospital is making strides to improve health care for children and adults living with IBD. In doing so, they have received a grant for $8 million dollars to create a network site for doctors to upload patient information (with approval), exchange medical practices, discuss what works and what doesn't work, etc. The site will allow patient interaction, as well. It is a very promising innovation and we would like you to be a part of it! Here is the information:

Are you the parent of a teenager or young adult (aged 12 to 17) with ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease?

If so, researchers at Cincinnati Children’s want to learn how you help them manage their condition. Knowing more about your techniques and needs will help them design a program to connect you with people and information that can help you stay healthy.

Those who are interested will be interviewed in person (if living in Oakland/Bay Area of California), or via phone or Skype for about an hour. Both the parent and the child will receive $20 to thank you for your insights.  For more information, please contact Amy Borgert via Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/amy.borgert, via email at amy.borgert@cchmc.org, or phone at 513-636-0161.

Thanks in advance for your participation. The latest date for interviews will be April 28!
