Constant antibiiotic need and Sinusitis

Fri, April 23, 2010 9:47 PM

I suffer with sinusitis either becaue of allergies or meds, but they have caused me to need antibiotics quite often. I ended up with c-diff which was just like Crohns but felt different to me because I had been doing well in that area. 250 mg of vancomycin helped but I am scared about being off of it. I had yeast everywhere. My throat, vaginal area, I had horrible sinus infections that nasal irrigation wasn't taking care of. Finally the ENT told me I needed surgery.. on the maxillary sinuses . I had three different opinions and all are the same. I need the surgery to open the passage ways and improve my chances of not getting strep throat and other bacteria that causes the antibiotic need.

Not stoked on the surgery but feel after much research and two years of doing everything I could, it is the lesser of the two evils.

Either that or steroid use has affected the vision in my left eye. It isn't quite right and that is one of the most annoying side effects yet. There is no way to mask it unless I wear a patch. It is a constant and it is annoying. It is better after being off the prednisone for a bit. I do have iritis that was diagnosed and apparently part of Crohns.

Good thing I have my pshycologist to unload all of this onto! Glad to see a place for us to put down info and network with each other! If anyone else has had this happen, let me know.

Yes, I am aware a lot of folks do the surgery and found it didn't help later and faced surgery again. But at this point I am facing that sad truth to find some relief and avoid getting cdiff continually. I take acidophilus, too.

It is just too powerful. Man, I'd love a cure! Till then I will keep truckin!
