narrow stool

Fri, December 24, 2010 9:49 AM

I was diagnosed with colitis in late August, 2010.  Started on daily bedtime mesalamine enimas, then added Apriso and reduced enimas to every 3 days 4 weeks later.  My symptoms have improved steadily since diagnosis.  1-3 stools per day during the past 2 months.  I don't see much forum feedback on my 2 questions.  Is it fairly normal to have formed stools (narrow or ribbon shaped) often?  Is it common to eat a lot and still not gain weight easily?

I had narrow stool (pencil like) for two months and then decided to go to my doc who ordered a c-scope for me. They found several ulcers in my terminal ilium and diagnosed me with Chron's yesterday. I don't know how common this is though since I haven't yet spoken with others with Chron's.

I have had Crohns since 2005. My stool has been narrow and ribbon like since before then. They found during the last scope job that my colon is very narrow due to healing etc. I was sent to a surgeon had a cat scan, but they are not concerned about it at this time. Hope that helps.
