I agree. I have gotten to the point that if I don't take some vicodin, the misery of my symptoms soon overwhelms me. And there is such a stigma around vicodin, good luck getting what I need. I realized a week and a half ago that this disease is killing me, and I don't even know what to do to try to stop it. I've been suffering daily for over 3 years now, no remission, clean colonoscopy notwithstanding. My doctor just wrote me a letter saying I should have no symptoms because I'm on Humira and had a clean colonoscopy last year. Well, I have symptoms every day, whether he approves or not. Now I have to find a new doctor, too. My sickness makes me very very depressed. I can't keep living like this.

I've have found some useful information under living with IBD on ccfa.org and sometimes reading the personal stories on the community page helps to remind me that I am not alone in my struggles.

Yeah for the pain but not for the inflammation, so damage will still be occurring and as soon as you stop medicating with the pain killers the pain will be back and in the meantime your gut will be in worse shape. Just cause there is no pain doesn't mean that your disease is in remission.
