Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in  a while.  I teach Kindergarten and have the summer off.  I hate to write or even say it out loud but I've been feeling pretty good lately.  I have crohn's disease and ibs.  My disease definitely acts up when under stress.  I love teaching and am so grateful to be able to take the summer off because I am not having as many flare ups.  I wish I could get through the school year or even just the fall without a flare up.  I know, wishful thinking huh?  Just wondering how you are all handling your disease during the school year and I hope you are all having a relaxing summer!  My husband is also a teacher.  He does work part time in the summer.  We have two beautiful children but my stress level is so much lower.  Have a great day!

That's all you can do it one day at a time.  Just getting set up for my last three classes for my SPED credentials.  I have to complete this class and then I get a week off before I hopefully start the next one.  I am so sick of college, I used to enjoy it but not so much anymore.  Lettuce is also not my friend although not so bad.  I am so sick of mushy and bland food.

I agree about the hour of exercise to relieve stress.  I ate salad two nights in a row and was expecting to feel lousy today but so far so good.  One day at a time right?  Have a great day!

I do get busy but exercise is the only way that I found to control what is going on right now and if I can't control it at least I can enter the zone and forget about it for an hour or so.  I forgot about it last night and was reminded that chipolte` is not my friend.  OW!!!  I was about to run for a fire extinguisher this morning.  Lesson for the week, remember what is edible and what isn't.  Just because it tastes good doesn't mean I should eat it.

Wow!  Good for you!  Teaching is awesome and I'm sure you will love it.  I run and that does help.  I know I should try yoga, I have before but haven't been able to fit it into my schedule.  My Mom is also suffering from lung cancer and that is something I am always thinking about so ofcourse I am worried and concerned about her which adds to my anxiety.

I am studying to be a teacher and holding down a full time job if that counts.  I am also in the National Guard and struggling with UC.  As stated in another post, exercise is my main stress reducer.  Oh, did I mention that I have two kids with one on the way.  I am no spring chicken to be doing all this stuff.  Anyway, yoga is an excellent way to stretch out and relax after your day.  Even though teaching, especially kindergarten from what I have seen, requires a lot of time, energy, and creativity, set aside one hour a night or maybe every other night to do yoga.  I am confident that once you get into it you will notice a decrease of your stress level.  Yoga is kind of a goofy exercise but it works.
