Awesome Experience At Work

Sat, March 16, 2013 1:44 AM

I was diagnosed with Colitis about 2 years ago. Since then I have never knowingly met another Crohns or Colitis patient . I currently work as EMT for a local ambulance company. Today I picked up a patient from a local hospital due to a flare up of her Crohns. During the transport i told her I was a Colitis patient. To be able to relate to my patient was an amazing feeling. After this experience I know I want to continue my path to be a nurse but now specialize in Gastroenterology. I hope my patient feels better than she was feeling and hope everything turns out okay for her. Being able to connect with another individual and make a small difference in there life is a feeling better than any other. Thank you to my patient and all others who like to make a positive difference in the life of another.
