Looking for a buddy

Hi, I am 59 year old with Crohn's.   I have had Crohn's, since I was 45  and have had 3 bowel resectons with abscess . In 2005 I had to leave my job as principal of an elementary school due to Crohn's. I loved my job and still struggle that Crohn's took my job away from me.  I have been on high and low doses of prednisone, remicade for the last 7 years and now on humera.  I have had 7 flare ups in the last year. I managed with heavy pain meds to stay at home all put three times. I hate going to emerg and trying to wait patiently in excruciating pain.  I feel that stress does not help and feel now I am going to ask for an anxiety or antidepressant meds now. I live in Canada and have cancelled many trips out of country due to no health insurance coverage. I usually say at least it is not cancer however my flare ups are emotionally taking a toll on me.  Anyone out there that can relate to me? Signed Fatigued and depressed.

Hi Janet, very nice to meet you. Sorry you are going through this. I personally cannot completely relate to your story, however as IBDers we all share a common bond in my eyes. I highly suggest (even if you create an account just for this) joining FB groups that deal with CD/UC/etc. 99% of the time one will be able to find someone that can completely relate to what they are going through and who can offer advice relevant to that situation. Also, look online to see if there is a support group in your area. would be more than worth your while to go. Take care!!
