Alone

I feel so new to this support thing. For years I did not know there was even a support system out there. I was diagnosed with Crohns when I was 6 and it wasnt until now almost 20 years later that I learn about resources. I am not sure why i am on here now writing this but I feel I have to get it off my chest. I feel so alone, like no one can understand what I am going through. This is the worst condition I have been in in years and I feel like it is never going to get better. How can I explain it to my new girlfriend? How can I tell her that we can't go do all the fun things she wants to? It kills me to have to tell her no. I cant even tell my parents my condition because they will worry and that only kills them and makes them unhealthy. My friends while supportive dont get it and its just a constant battle of embarrassment and shame... Im sorry for the rant.

My daughter was very young too (4) when she was diagnosed. We all have good and bad days.   Brighter days are ahead.   Your new girlfriend will understand sometimes a quiet night in is good for everyone.  Good friends, food,  music or movie makes for great fun.  You are not alone in this world, lots of us are in similar situations, don't get so down.  One of my mantras that I tell my girls all of the time "tomorrow is a new day".  Welcome to the community.   Lizzies Mom
