News flash on advancements in Crohns

Thu, March 13, 2014 8:24 PM

I live near Detroit and today on one of their radio stations there was a news article about how advancements have been made with identifying the missing "good" bacteria in Crohn's patients guts.  They said that out of 400 Crohn's  patients in this study, most were found to have been missing nearly 200 of the good bacteria that "normal" people have in their gut.   This is considered to be a huge find, they went on to say, because up until now, it was only theorized that lack of good bacteria was the culprit in Crohn's.  So now they are working on fine tuning this and finding out exactly WHICH bacteria are missing .  This sounds like a step in the right direction.  Hope they hurry!

Anyone else hear word on this?
