Zoloft helps with anxiety?

Mon, August 11, 2014 11:47 PM

Well, as most of us with U.C; have symptoms of urgency to use the restroom when going through some unforseen changes....I spoke to my Dr. and asked to see if he could give me something so that i don't feel anxious about situations (especially at work) i told him that i didn't want to take something everyday, I only needed a chill pill so that i can relax in i.e meetings etc. Note that i asked my GI for this and he referred me to my primary dr. with that said, my Dr. prescribed Zoloft.  He said that would help me for the anxiety and that it wouldn't interfere with my current meds which is Asacol.  I had the meds in my medicine cabinet for about three weeks.  I was scared/nervouse to take them.  i don't want to get hooked on these pills. After plenty of reasearch i have decided to take them. it's been only 5 days...i don't feel different...I was also told it takes a bit to get it in the system.  I am still nervous about it.  Has anyone been on this medicine before? has it help with the anxiety?
