Hi all,  I just don't know what to do anymore.... I am a single mom of a wonderful 4 year old who means the world to me.... I found out I had crohn's right after I had him... I  been on and off with work since then.  Now I am out of work cuz it has gotten so bad... I filed for disiblity but I am still waiting... I am fighting with my other half all the time and I know I can't have the stress but just don't know what to do anymore... I try to eat the right things and go to all my treatments.  I just so irate and witchy all the time now... Disiblity denied me and I have appealed but I am so scared I am not going to get it... My Dr wrote a note stating  I am unable to work.  I just have no idea what I am going to next.  How am I going to pay my bills and everything else you have to do in life.  I get pains prob like 2 a month and I am in the bathroom 5-6 times a day  more in the morning.  Sorry to vent everything but I know that is what this is for.  someone please help?

Cheryla,

i hope that responding to you is helpful as I do not think there is anything I can do other than empathize.    I also cannot tell you what to do.  I can tell you that I understand about the fear and the pain.  This disease can be merciless.  One problem after another piles up and it can seem overwhelming.  One thing that I have noticed is that every person I have met who has this disease is strong, smart, and resilient.  After dealing with IBD, there is nothing this life can throw at us that we cannot handle.  I know that for me, connecting with others that understand my situation has always been helpful.  I think setting up the online forum is one of the greatest things CCFA has done for us.

I spent 11 years suffering from this disease from 77 to 88 (I have colostomy bag since then and a grateful for it) Horrific details of my 11 years are not important here and now.  Since 88 I have not had a cramp, or needed to be on any medication, but to this day I work on PTSD from the horrors of this time past.  Appreciation of what I went through and work on today by others who understand has always been helpful to me.

I hope that you can use this online community to connect with folks that can offer you support, even if it is just a note like this.

I suggest that you respond to other's posts here even if no one else posts a response to you because I believe that being connected helps on lots of levels, even if only in our own heads.

Thanks CCFA for these forums!

Ivan
