Not much for forums and chat. I have had crohn's for 21 years . I have had 6 resections . A million hospital stays . I'm not much of a complainer. BUT started  not to long ago with perianal abscesses had My second seton put in last week. Started humira this week.  I have some how stayed very very active over the years. But this stuff is kicking my butt. Trying NOT to stay on the pain mangerment plan . Morphine pills with fill in percocets.  I have a 3 inch opening and between the bathrooon habits and moving around . I guess I'm hoping to hear that the humira will do what they say.

Thank you for the respones.  I hope your recovery goes well . It's funny that you mentioned bike riding. I used to spent a fair amount of time riding. But until  I invent a bike that has a very soft pillow for a seat I will stick to walking .

Ted, I've also had Crohns for 21 years and usually remain active (aerobics, yoga, bike riding).  I recently had my first surgery and am recovering.  I think Chron's is very much so related to mental distress/stress/depression and anxiety.  It's a bad cycle of feeling bad emotionally that makes you feel worse physically and it is easy to feel like it won't ever get better.  My advice is to go to see pyschiatrists/counselors/clergy--any kind of proessional to discuss your feelings.  Take the medicines they give you, if any.  I don't think depression is any different than other medical conditions and people ought to treat it as such.

But for right now, don't dwell on the future, just deal with today and what's happening in this moment.  Keep you're spirits up!
