incredibly frustrated

Hi,

I was just diagnosed with Chrons about a month ago by a doctor who had a jury duty appointment right after me...So basically he threw pentasa at me and said that he wanted to do another procedure where I swallow a little camera...It has been over a month and I can not get a hold of the nurse to see if my insurance went through to have the procedure and I am still not feeling well.

My big thing is naseau and constipation.  I have been working with a nutrionist who has me off wheat, dairy and eggs after testing me for intolerances and it has helped with the constipation..but I continue to get naseaous every couple of days.  I have antinaseau pills but then that makes me constipated.  I get a couple of days normal and then bang..back to not eating due to my naseau.

My activitiy has dropped down to zero, I barely make it through my day at work.  I am sooooo frustrated.  I feel like I am being really proactive and getting nothing in return.

Hello!

I, too was diagnosed with Crohn's not too long ago, and I'm amazed at how similar so many of these postings are to what I've experienced! (counter-acts the very alone feelings when none of your  friends have any understanding of what you're going through!)

I had to switch MDs early on, as well. Definitely shop around. I figure: Crohn's will last a lifetime (with or without remissions), so it's worth the effort to find the right help.

And I've also started adjunctive nutritional therapy with a naturopath. It is frustrating though, no matter what I eat (bland, pureed, gluten-free blah blah) I still have pain!

Hang in there, keep writing here, keep a jounal to help you figure out what helps you.   All best, krii

Wow, thanks everyone.  I am going to get a new doctor! Sometimes I am not sure if I am just being impatient or overly dramatic.  I appreciate the perspective.

Sincerely,

Christine

It's unreal that you haven't heard anything from your doctor in a month!!!!!!!  I'm not sure what type of insurance you have but my suggestion is to contact a University Medical Center in your area and ask if there is a hospital that has it's own IBD center.   I live in Los Angeles and my daughter, who has UC, goes to a GREAT doctor out of a hospital that has it's own IBD center.   Good luck and keep us posted : )

Sorry to hear you are not getting the relief you want.  I would begin searching for a new GI doctor.  Your doctor's office should be able to give you some sort of answer in a month's time.  In the meantime, I would go to the doctor's office and sit there until you what you want.  It's harder to ignore someone when they are right in front of you.  Good luck.
