Help?

I just had a discussion w/ my partner about joining her gym.  She takes pilates & yoga classes, I'm not into those but she doesn't quit get it.  For the past few days I have been having some major pains and such and her response was "get over it, it's just pain, don't let it control you".  I have asked her many times to just give me some support and understanding and maybe even read up on Crohns but she sees people who give into pain as being weak.  Weak is one thing I'm not, at least not physically. Some harsh words were said during our discussion but I just don't think she quite understands that this is not something that is just going to "go away".  Any Advice?

Well, there's pain, and then there's pain. You should know your body best and probably can tell when the pain is telling you you have to take it easy, and when it's just the guts being twerpy.

I agree with the others that it might be worth trying the yoga classes--sometimes it really actually helps! And it will show that you are willing to try, which might be what your partner is hoping for (I know I sometimes go overboard in trying to convince my fiance to start exercising--he doesn't have Crohn's, so I suppose I get impatient with him not taking advantage of his health).

But if you go, know that it's okay to sit out for part of it. It can be hard for people who don't have chronic disease to understand that "working through the pain" can make things worse.

I enjoy both yoga and pilates.   Definitely try the beginning levels and keep an open mind....it will take more than one session to feel a difference.
