Spiritual healing part 1

I'm 24 years old and i have had crohn's for 10 years now. My symptoms have been mild and I have never been hospitalized or had any surgeries. I have been on prednisone, pentasa, flagyl, and imuran during flare ups. Pentasa is the only one that really worked. Since my symptoms are not too severe i cant say i live a normal life I do get diarrhea and frequent BM's. I have read stories here of people who are very sick, angry and depressed because their treatments are not working. I cant say i understand exactly what they going through on a daily basis because i havent been there but i do feel their pain.
Like I said I have not been through any of the real bad stuff but one of the things that has really helped me cope with this horrible disease is daily meditation. I have been meditating for 30 minutes every morning for 5 years now and it has changed my life. There are alot of people out there who are living with tremendous amount of stress daily due to IBD and are desperately looking for support.
From my experience I can offer some spiritual support. I am more spiritual person than religious. I believe we are all spirits having a human experience. We have two bodies a physical body and a spirit body. Almost all diseases originate in the spirit body. The amount of stress we build up daily causes some of the healing energy we receive in the spirit body to be blocked and it causes the physical body to become ill because we are not healing. That is why medication fails to work because it doesnt treat the source it only treats the physcial body and not the spirit body. Medication is only a temporary fix. Our brain runs everything. our body cannot heal if our brain is a mess and meditation is a way to calm the brain down reduce stress and anxiety. I am not telling people to stop taking their medication. Medication with daily meditation will greatly help and it will make you a happier person. We have to take care of our brain as well as our body.

orion i just wanted to acknowledge that what you say is very very true. i have also had crohns for 11 years and i am a very spritual individual. i attend church every sunday however i am more spiritual than religious. i believe that God has been my strength spiritually and if it wasnt for meditation/praying that i do daily, i could not tell you where i would be. i too have not had any surgeries directly related to crohns however i understand where our fellow crohnians suffer.

I have had UC for 3 years and have had some side effects from my meds. I was considering a Colectomy or maybe the pouch method. I do get depressed and I do need to meditate. I am scared that in the long run these meds will mess up my liver or kidneys years later. My liver is a little high now. I only have been on Lialda and now on Asacol but have had to change the mgs due to strong side effects on the Acacol. They had me on 400 mg 2 in the morning and two at noon then 2 at night. I could hardly function so now I am on 1 pill in the morning and one at noon and one in the evening. I cannot take predisone much if in a flare which I have had three times. Is their anything I can take for that that will not turn me in to a mad woman and oh that moon face. I am considering the colectomy to just get rid of my UC all together. HELP! any advise.........
