Atlanta support for people with Ostomies

I am Ashley, I'm 27 and because of my crohn's I have an ileostomy. I know it can be a challenge going through this alone. I have not met many people in Atlanta who share this same challenge. I'm sure there is plenty though. So I started a fb group "Atlanta's Ileost Crew " all Ostomies welcome. In the group I want to be able to help one another through these trying times. There is no limit to the topics. Together we will bond with each other, help our team in any way possible, hang out and love the family I am trying to build. I just started this group so as of right now I am the only member. Please don't let this discouraged you. Feel free to join or send someone my way who is in need of support and understanding. Thanks for creating that group. I had my temp ilio at Piedmont and would have been completely lost if not for my brother's wife-he had his colonectomy two years before did and a lady on my tennis team who was a WOC nurse at Piedmont who told me if I ever needed any help, to call.

Both resources were a great source of comfort. I feel for those who do not have this kind of help, and have told both my GI and surgeon to give my number out if they have a patient who wants to talk about what they are facing. No one has called yet.
