Symptoms of Crohn's flare with an ileostomy

Wed, January 28, 2015 4:52 PM

I was wondering if anyone has had a Crohn's flare with an ileostomy.  I had surgery to remove my rectum and colon in Sept. 2013 and I have been doing well, except in the past week I have broken out with canker sores in my mouth and am now having pain across my lower abdomen that shoots into my back.  The pain is below my stoma and spans across my stomach.  It hurts no matter how I sit or lay or when I walk around.  Output seems to happen fairly quickly after I eat and is more runny that usual.  I have not noticed any blood.  When I had an ileoscope in Oct. 2014, everything was clear, but I have not been on any meds to prevent Crohn's from returning because every medication I've tried caused too many side effects.  Has anyone experienced these symptoms?

Hi: I came across this post and wondering if the canker sores were a symptom of recurrent Crohn's disease. I've been in remission since 1992 so I've been surprised that I am getting recurring canker sore's and a slight sour stomach that hurts sometimes. I'm a little nervous that my Crohn's has come back. I hope to hear from you and hope you are well. Thanks!
