Post Abscess Pain

Hello,
I am a 25 year old woman, diagnosed in 2010 with Crohns. I am new to the forum. I recently was hospitalized for three days due to an abscess in my Ileum (where all my disease resides). It has been a month and a half since I was admitted and I have extreme consistent debilitating pain in my right side. I was on flagyl and cipro for a month and prednisone as well. I am waiting for a colonoscopy later this month. It was recommended I have surgery consult to discuss removing the diseased piece of my ileum but my GI doctor told me to hold off. I am getting frustrated with being in so much pain that effects my mobility and my sanity. Treatment doesn't seem to keep the inflammation down, giving Humira injections weekly. I am getting to the point where I am open to surgery in hopes of getting to a remission state. Anyone have any personal experiences? Advice?

Get a second opinion. I had  6 feet of my colon removed and it was the best thing I ever did. the pain before surgery was very very scary because they told me my colon could have burst. I live a normal life, work full time, and am in the bathroom once or twice a day. Good luck.
