j-pouch

My 15 year old son just had his first surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago.   He is now having to deal with  an ileostomy.  He is having trouble with the bag sticking to his skin and showering without it comming apart.  Does anyone have good ideas, especially when taking a shower?  thanks.

How are you doing after surgery?  Is it true when I read you have a new life with a J-pouch.  Considering future options - your input would be valuable.  onedreamer@juno.com

You could try a different brand of bag with a different surface on the skin side, or place a piece of medical tape on the skin side this should help keep the plastic from sticking to the skin.

Since he has a J pouch, this step is only temporary (I had the same surgery last year), the time goes fast and he will feel so much better.  My best to you.

maybe he can use one of the bags that are just one piece, so it can not be open, you just need to change it more often. Just an idea, hope it helps
