Pentasa?

Wed, March 02, 2016 4:48 PM

I am new to this!  My 10 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with Crohn's.  The doctor is initially putting her on Pentasa.
2 500mg capsules 3 times per day.  It seems like so much for a little body that is barely 70lbs.

Please has any one ad their child on this drug?  How did they do?  Were there side effects?  I am worried for my little one.
Thank you!

My son is 4 years old and was diagnosed recently with mild to moderate Chron&#39;s&nbsp;disease. The doctor is prescribing him Pentasa, I would like to hear your experience with the drug. Did you achieve remission with this drug? What are the side effects? How worse was their condition when they were prescribed this condition?&nbsp;<br /> I am very new to this chronic condition, it sinks my heart reading that very few people have success with medications. I&#39;m hoping to get some feedback from moms who have kids with this condition and how therapies have worked for them.

My son who is 7 has been taking Pentasa for a few years. It was explained to me that it is the mildest form of drug to use and is safe with very low side effects if any. It has helped him manage his symptons for mild Chrons.
