Can anyone recommend a good diet book?  and does anyone know if gluten free helps?  i know low fiber and stay away from nuts, seeds, popcorn.  my son is lactose intolerant so we will be staying away from dairy already.  any help would be great.

I was put into remission by the IC diet.  Again, google it, it may not make alot of sense since it treats Interstital Cystitis, but the leading doctor with this diet, my urologist, said it actually affects the whole digestive tract, not just the bladder.

I would read "The New Eating Right for a Bad Gut" by James Scala.  Also there is also a lot written about the specific carbohydate diet and IBD.  I am not sure how successful this diet is with kids, it takes a lot of discipline.  You can google the diet or read about it on this web site and see for yourself.  I kept a food journal at the beginning and documented what foods were good and what foods caused problems.
