child fistulas

My son has two skintags on his anus that I'm so concerned about, the doctor said it is part of the crohns disease.  They are not bothering him he's had them about a year.  Obviously, do these get worse over time? from what I'm reading this is the beginning onset of crohns and they will be fistulas and he will get more of them.  I also understand these are very hard to get rid of.  has anyone had these and they don't bother them or they didn't get more?  Is it always the case that once you have one they keep coming.  I'm just learning about all this newly diagnosed.  What can I do to help them? anything?

My son has had skin tags since age 5, he is now 21 and we have never heard anything about them turning into fistulas. His were so large his doctor got permission to photograph them for a book she was writing. So try not to worry

My 11yr old daughter has had a skin tag on her bottom for about a year and just developed a fistulas about 3 months ago. The fistula is small about the size of a sharped pencil tip.  The doctor is watching it but at this time she is having know problems so we hope it has not tunnels and might even go away.  She was taking immuran but we are know on Remicade which has been known to help heal fistulas.  She has never complained of pain the only thing that sent us to the doctor was she went the bathroom many times a day and was not growing. The doctor did tell us skin tags are common.  I hope you son is doing well just keeping reading as much as you can because everyong is different and there are never two people that are the same with this diease.

My nine year old daughter has skin tags there and they are what led to her Crohn's diagnosis a year ago.  It is my understanding that they are a sign of inflammation further in the intestine.  They bothered her more when she was first diagnosed but now that she is stable they do not bother her at all.  The doctor has not mentioned anything about them turning into fistulas.  I hope your son is feeling better soon, good luck.
