Thu, June 17, 2010 9:20 PM

My son just got his labs and his red blood count his higher than it has ever been! For a Crohn's Patient does anyone no if this is normal.

We have never encountered this one, but I did read recently it may be as simple as a symptom of dehydration.  Hopefully by now you have heard from your doc.   My thought is if he isn't showing signs/symptoms of being ill, to try to keep calm  ( I know first hand it isn't easy), but it just may be as simple of your son not having had enough fluid day of blood draw.

Well wishes to all,

We are always in the other direction (low) so I apologize not to have any experience with this one.  What does the doctor say?  Is it high like out of the reference range or just high for him?
