Hi- Oh Thanks for thinking of us. Yes things are turning around..and for the good.  I think.  Hate to jinx us.  We started her on Methotrexate injections last wk.  I had such a hard time accepting/starting this new med., but once I/we did and chose to move forward, everything has been good.  I was most worried about side effects, but so far, round 1, we've seen none.  Tonight is round 2 and a little higher doseage, so hopefully we'll have the same luck.  We get blood drawn next wk. to evaluate her levels, but she's feeling really good.  We'll talk again in few wks.  Hope everything is good on your end as well.

My daughter is 7 (Crohns) and is currently very stable on 6MP.  But, she did take Methotrexate injections when she was 4 for her arthritis.  Overall, she did well on them but my advice (and of course, the doctor will give you some) is to give them at bedtime.  Because nausea can be an issue....it was the only side effect she experienced.  As long as we did them just before she went to bed, she slept through that part.  The couple of times we gave them earlier, she wasn't comfortable.

I wish I some thoughts for you on the headaches.  When we weaned the prednisone, we didn't have that experience.  Like every other parent on this forum though, we could all have a 'we hate prednisone' club, right?

I hope your daughter does well.

Blessings,

Hi- Thanks for your thoughts/advice.  Greatly appreciated. Met w/our Dr. today.  If headaches continue will do slow taper.  Crossing our fingers.  I did see info. on that study, found it interesting and did bring to my Dr.'s attn.  I don't think she was comfortable w/it because it is so new, and not completely FDA approved??  If I'm correct not sure.  Dr. now wants to put her on Methotrexate injections.  WE've been on Gluten Free and almost DAiry free for about 2-3mo. and taking lots of vitamin supplements, still lots of up down roads unfortunately.  ANy more thoughts are welcome.
