just wondering if anyone else has problems with your childs school? I go round and round and jump threw hoops and then they look at me like im a over protective parent and they dont seem to understand the difference between IBD and IBS. I am sending the the info from the ccfa web sight AGAIN and just got her on a 504 but they still think she is over exaggerating everything

I have made no bones about the bathroom issue and my two children with Crohns.  The teachers should be scarecd to stop your child from going to the bathroom, and if your kid takes advantage periodically of their disease symptoms to get out of class, then it is one of the few benefits they get from having this disease.  Hold your head up and be your kids advocate. I agree.  it is not an easy life we live with the parental pain of children with chronic illnesses and when they are thirty, I will still be the parent carrying that pain.

You are doing all the right things.   You need to be your daughter's advocate.  If you don't stick up for her, nobody else will.

One of my daughter's teachers was reprimanded by the principal for telling her to "wait" when asked to be excused to the girls' room.

Keep up the good work, stay the course.    Advise them she is covered under the American's with Disabilities Act and refer any further questions to the pedi gi.   There is no reason they are putting you through the mill.
