Menstrual Cycle Pain Medication ***NEED HELP ASAP***

Sun, May 31, 2015 4:04 PM

Ever since I was diagnosed, I was told to stop taking certain pain medications and one of those pain medications included Midol, even the kind that doesn't have caffeine. I don't know any other menstrual cycle pain medications I can take. And when I have a flare up and my cycle happens, it only makes things more painful. I'm lucky if I can leave the bed during those moments.

Please help?

I was told only to take Tylenol. Heat packs can help. For me the cramps are worse when sitting. So moving around a bit helps.

Tylenol helps a lot Also alternating heat ( hot pack/hot water bottle/ heating pad) and cold ( ice packs) in your abdomen really helps Getting potassium also helps with muscle and abdominal cramping I know banana and apricot both have a lot but you can google foods high in potassium for more ideas And if the pain is really bad ask your doc for either tramadol which is a strong ibd friendly pain med or maybe ask for a muscle relaxant or anti spasmodic
