Re-doing a colectomy site....

Hey!  I was wondering if anyone has had to undergo surgery for a new stoma site?  I have been seeing a dermatologist for a non-healing ulcer around my stoma.  Also, it is funky looking!  It has been stretched, kicked, pulled, yanked on by my pregnancies (I've had 2 daughters in the last 3 and 1/2 years).  As a result, my stoma looks like a califlower.  It used to be very small & neat looking.  However, it is just plain ugly now (not that it was ever beautiful, but in comparison....).  My derm. is sending me to a GI surgeon to place a new stoma.  I've lived with a colostomy now since March 2003.  I prayed and prayed that medicine would come up with a cure for this disease (and keep on praying!!!!) so that I can have "normal" body (or at least somewhat normal).  Anyway, it's a small price to pay for my baby girls and my life!!  If anyone has had this type of surgery done, please let me know.  I'm terrified of having to go through this type of surgery again!!!!  Thanks!!!!
