Irregular Discharge and Crohn's Disease

Wed, August 19, 2009 11:31 PM

Let me give you a little background...
I am 23 years old turning 24 on Monday.  I have had Crohn's Disease since my 20th birthday in 2005, a great birthday present, right?  I just recently found this forum and hopefully someone notices the same thing that I have over the past few years.
This is kinda hard to describe so I will do my best.  I have an irregular vaginal discharge which can be a variety of colors but mostly a light or pale yellow all the time.  No one knows what it is, and I have been tested for all of the STDs, even though I have only been with one person, and bacterial infections all negative.  Has anyone else experienced this?  My GYN is stumped.  Also even though my Crohn's disease is under control to the point where I only have one flare a year, I still have a lot of problems with my female hormones and sexual activity.  My poor husband is very patient, which I am thankful.  Does any one else have similar problems?  I would appreciate any advice or answers.
Thanks!
Jen

I started having a discharge right after I started a new med at the end of June. As the weeks went on, it got worse, started having pelvic discomfort, and then an odor! I went to see my gyno and he did a full pelvic exam and did a culture. I am not prone to yeast infections or uti's and I had a hysterectomy so no period. We went thru all the questions: any new soap, foods, etc..the only thing new was the Kapidex for my upper gi/reflux. Everything came back negative and while I was waiting I did some research and vaginal infections can be a side effect, not a common one but still can happen. My gyno felt like it had to be the Kapidex so I called my GI.  I stopped the Kapidex and now after about a week and a half, it's almost all gone.  Have you started anything new lately?
